"For more than 100 years, the public libraries of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County have been important elements of our communities’ lives. Libraries are public gathering places for individuals and families, bringing together a rich mix of people from all walks of life. Sadly, today, many of our libraries are out-dated, crowded and unattractive places that cannot offer the services and spaces we need to encourage people to come, to meet, and to be that hub of lifelong learning that is so essential to our community’s economic health and growth. ... It’s up to us to support our libraries. They are essential components of a vibrant community committed to creating jobs, growing, and prospering now and in the future."
